Anyone can start a podcast, but not everyone should. Here is a simple checklist to help you identify if a podcast is right for your brand's goals.

Maybe have a rethink if...

  1. Lead generation (B2C)

  2. Self-promotion

  3. Sell product

  4. Time poor

  5. No promo budget

  6. No niche

  7. No unique perspective

You're along the right lines if...

  1. Build a community for your brand

  2. Serve your customers

  3. Feed people’s passions and interests

  4. Address stigmatised topics

  5. Share knowledge

  6. Entertain and support

  7. Share well-informed views to an underserved audience

  8. Drive traffic to website

  9. Build reputation / authority

  10. Champion certain speakers / views

  11. Drive leads (B2B)

  12. Build audio channel/output for your brand

  13. Create evergreen content

Let me know what you think of these pointers. I'd love to hear your thoughts and feedback, and if you're struggling to set tangible and measurable goals for your brand's podcast. Drop me a note at josephinecolter@gmail.com
